How Do I Work with a VA?
It is a good idea to record your standard operating procedures, workflows, and systems if you want to scale your business, so that your business can eventually run without your daily input into the details. This not only increases your business’s value, but helps give you time to do other things. Not everyone has time to do that, so working with a virtual assistant helps business owners do this one step at a time.
Choose a task that you can do well that is easy to repeat. Clearly communicate what you want the virtual assistant to do and make sure that the virtual assistant understands. Online meetings and written steps are helpful.
Once the first task has been delegated to your virtual assistant, it is a good idea to do regular check-ins to make sure everything has been understood and has been done to your satisfaction. Then hand off the next task. Check in. Repeat.
I recommend weekly check-ins. This time can also be used to delegate another task.
Your virtual assistant will keep track of how much time it has taken to complete the tasks and how much time is remaining in your package..
Please be sure that your virtual assistant has access to any online tools that will be needed to do the job.
